Cuba spent the day creating music through improvisation based on space poetry written by members of the class.
‘In Orbit’ written by Zoe Kantazi, read by Hiyaw and Sharnelle and brought to life through music by Team Cuba.
It was incredible watching the young lyrical genius’ work come alive! The local orchestra, who have performed with poets such as Benjamin Zephaniah, hand picked Zoe’s poem as their inspiration – they were truly astounded at the quality of the writing.
In Orbit
Orbiting…
Vivid darkness constantly,
Vibrant worlds we soar through.
Violet galaxies blind me.
Through space in an instant.
Orbiting…
With pleasant leaps of hope and faith,
Distant worlds flutter silently.
Never ending sparks dance,
Amongst despair.
Orbiting…
Around and around
Glittering planets pirouetting,
Beneath the darkness.
Around and around
Orbiting…
Will we ever stop?
Around and around
Our unique universe
We will never stop
Orbiting…
Still in orbit
Getting dizzy
Still in orbit
Until forever ends
