We hope you have all noticed the beautiful hexagonal ceramic wall tiles which are on display in the main playground and at the front of the school, near the pond.
Every child in the school had the opportunity to work with Pedro Kalache to make and decorate a tile.
The children gathered leaves and plants and imprinted them onto the clay tiles. Once the tiles had dried and been fired, Pedro then taught the children how to glaze the patterns in subtle, natural colours. The detail is wonderful and the completed art work is truly inspiring.
Pedro does a lot of work in Brazil – we are so pleased that he came to work with us. Our school gets more beautiful every day and it is even more special when the work has been made collaboratively by all the children.
