This week we are taking part in the ‘Hour of Code’ initiative. The UK Hour of Code by code.org plans to be the biggest ever national initiative to get students, teachers and parents learning to code in just one hour. The campaign intends to help teachers and students get ahead of curriculum changes which requires school children to cover computer science from September 2014. The children will be able to learn the basic skills of computer programming in sixty minutes, through fun tutorials that feature well-known characters from apps and games. At Brecknock we already have a number of our children doing computer coding, whether it be through class trips to the CLC, in ICT lessons in school or through coming along to our Code Club on a Wednesday after school. We hope all the children are going to enjoy the experience this week and if you want to have a go at home, click this link to have a go:
