During science week, Year 5 had the opportunity to use some fantastic 40x zoom microscopes, loaned to the school by Camden’s ‘Francis Crick Institute’.
As we were learning about states of matters (solids, liquids and gases) the children had access to a wide range of solid materials with very different properties to view under the microscope. Once the children had spent some time observing various materials, they had to choose a final material or materials to view and take a picture of through the lens of the microscope.
This image was then used to inspire a piece of artwork, which the children are currently working…watch this space for pictures of the finsihed pieces of art!
