On Tuesday Year 2 visited Frieghtliners Farm as part of their IPC topic.
The children has a wonderful time learning about the different animals on the farm, and what food items they provide. Feeding the goats was particularly exciting, with giggles and squeals all round.
We were bless with sunshine and everyone enjoyed some time in the park after lunch.
The farm also had in impressive fruit and vegetable garden where the children got to see first hand where their food comes from. They identified a number of different plans and had a go at harvesting leeks, tomatoes, beets and other plants. It was a valuable experience for the children to see the food growing, and also to contemplate how long it takes for certain foods to grow.
