To begin a mini science topic, the children visited the Heath to find out about animals in their habitats and food chains. Both sessions were excellent and the children learnt new vocabulary to describe food chains, as well as enjoying a day outside in nature.

They searched for mini-beasts in a woodland habitat and took part in pond dipping to find out what lives in the water. It was a brilliant way to start their topic and the children came back feeling exhausted, but enthused about their topic.
