The day started well with the arrival of Louise, Jo, Don, and the other members of Year 6 who hadn’t made the trip to Kent. Everybody was really excited to see them, especially since they had brought with them a lovely bit of sunshine, perfect since we were off for a long morning walk. Taking in the beautiful scenery, everything was going nicely…until the hill came into view! Those brave (or crazy) enough, attempted to run up it. Others took slightly longer, but were considerably less out of breath when reaching the top!
In the afternoon, team activities were put on to test the children’s ability to work as a team. A testing hoop activity was followed by a task requiring the whole year to try and balance a giant seesaw. It’s fair to say it wasn’t as simple as it looked (especially with a cheeky few moving when they weren’t meant to!). Other games involved using tyres and bars to get past swamps and giant skis, which required all members to move at the same time. You will have to ask the children to explain fully, but have a look at the photos to give you an idea.
We had another two new arrivals in the evening in the form of Sue and Tiggy, who joined us for dinner, allowing everyone to share their stories about varies activities (including who the snorers are in their rooms!). The children are now dressed and ready to head off for the barn social for a dance and some laughter. Will Sue or Tiggy be able to take Mia’s limbo contest crown!?
