We have been looking at sunglasses, and their importance.  We learned that staring at the sun directly , burns your retinas (at the back of your eye), and could lead to blindness!  Further to that, we also learned about which materials would make the best lenses (out of opaque, transparent and translucent).  Transparent would help you to see clearly (cling film), but be awful at keeping out light.  Opaque would be great at keeping out light, but you wouldn’t see where you were going!  The best materials were…TRANSLUCENT!
