Last week, Year 5 visited the Unicorn Theatre to see a performance of Philip Pullman’s Grimm Tales. This half term the children have been looking at a variety of Philip Pullman texts, including Clockwork, it was great to see one of his stories come to life. The children enjoyed the different fairytales, especially with the gruesome twists. At times they laughed, but there were also a few screams. Overall, it was a fantastic day out.

Philip Pullman’s adventurous play is full of dark scenes and has caught everyone’s attention with a psychologicall version of Philip Pullman’s Grimm Tales. The Unicorn Theatre has put on a dark, magical delight for children this Christmas. It all starts when three kids refuse to go to sleep. This causes a series of interesting events, this family is in for a surprise and it was all because of a few books. The books you used to love when you were little have come to life with a small twist. Ultimately, my opinion is that’s it is a tasty play with shocking events and it makes you tasty for more.

Philip Wilson has recreated Philip Pullman’s Grimm Tales in a funny dark version, at the London Bridge Unicorn Theatre. This Christmas Eve don’t dare go to bed without an interesting tale. This is a story of three children that can’t go to bed, so they read a book of great tales and use their imagination to act like they are in the story. In my opinion the setting was great and the actors were funny. To be honest, my favourite actor was David Emmings because he was the funniest and he made the stage light up.
