We have been looking at the picture book, Matchbox Diaries about the journey from Italy to America of an immigrant. In the book a great grandfather is sharing  a collection of memories held in his matchbox diary.

Using this as inspiration the children have been creating matchboxes which reflect them with something special inside that tells a story and holds a memory about themselves.
