This term Year 2 have been enjoying a fantastic story in literacy, called The Princess and The White Bear King.

To help understand the story, and prepare for writing in role, the children became goldsmiths and attempted to ‘forge the finest crown’ for the princess. We had lots of fun and even had a catwalk to show off our work.

Following this, the children wrote wonderful letters to the king, telling him why their crown was the best. The children came up with really imaginative ideas including crown components being made from unicorn horns, Pegasus’s feathers and gold from the bottom of the ocean. Well done year 2!
