We have been exploring one more and one less than any given number.

The children waited patiently at the bus stop, taking it in turns to board the bus.

They said the number that was one more each time another person got on the bus.

Then they rang the bell, and children started getting off the bus one by one. We practised counting backwards as each child got off the bus.
