As part of work week, Year 2 were lucky enough to have a visit to Shoreditch Fire Station. The found out about fire safety, spotting fire hazards in mock rooms and what they should do in case of a fire. They also learnt about the different tools carried by fire engines and what they might be used for. The children got to hold some of the equipment and were fascinated by the stories. But, the highlight for everyone… getting to have a go squirting water from the fire engine hose! The children were inquisitive throughout the trip, and hopefully it has inspired some emergency service workers of the future!
