As our entry point to our new topic ‘Flowers and Insects’ Year 1 went on a trip to Hampstead Heath. They began by having a good run around in the playground before getting stuck into nature. The children had three different activities to do. They went go pond dipping and see what creatures they could find and try and classify them, which was really interesting, one of us found a small frog! The children created ‘tree spirits’ using brown clay and natural materials and repeated pattern leaf bracelets.

We all had a great time, thanks to all the parents that helped!
